So you don't want to walk

Treadmill Training--when the weather is frightful, time is short or just to change things up. Treadmill doesn't have to equal dreadmill.
In general, you can replicate most speed and tempo workouts on a treadmill--or stationary bike for that matter. Basic Tips to get you started:
Training Priorities and Time Management: Finding a way to match your goals and schedule when time is limited.
When time is crunched, assess all the training you want to include in your week and then assign these sessions a priority: 1, 2, or 3.
Common Scenario: You have completed your racing season for 2012, are 5 months away from your next priority run, and want to do a sprint tri next year. It is a good time to introduce some cross training, strength training, conditioning (flexibility, balance, etc) or even switch focus to nutrition.
By dividing your workouts to accomplish more than 1 goal, you will eliminate multiple warm up and cool down periods, and spend more time on high quality efforts--work smarter, not harder! Get in, do work and Get out! This combination of workouts is different for each athlete depending on their personal goals. Contact a Stoix Coach for a a consultation to see if you are assigning your 1's, 2's and 3's efficiently!
